Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
